Important information for applicants for document legalization:

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding the legalization process or certified copy of documents from TLScontact. In order to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of our services, we must guarantee the legibility of essential information on documents subject to legalization or certified copy.

It is crucial that the first and last name of the person who established the document, as well as any official stamp, are clearly visible and legible. This information plays a vital role in the document verification and authentication process.

In the event that the first and last name of the person who established the document or the stamp is not clearly legible, TLScontact reserves the right to refuse the document.

  • Tunisian school and academic documents (baccalaureate certificates, university diplomas, transcripts, etc.) will again be legalised by the German Embassy in Tunis starting 01.10.2023.

  • The German embassy does not currently legalise certificates of enrolment, attendance or school attendance
  • High school transcript, report card and diploma:

The original document must first be legalized at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    • BaccalaureateThe original Baccalaureate diploma must first be legalized at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • Baccalaureate transcriptThe original transcript must first be legalized at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • Higher education diploma, transcriptThe original document must be legalized by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Some recent Tunisian study certificates contain a QR code and no signature:

For legal reasons, they cannot be legalized since they do not contain a signature. You will instead receive a consular certificate from the Embassy certifying that the QR code is authentic. For legal reasons, it is not the legalization fee that is charged, but the fee for a consular certificate (currently EUR 34.07, payable in TND at the Embassy's current exchange rate).

Just like legalization, the procedure takes place via TLScontact. Please continue reading about «  Making an Appointment  ».

Unlike legalizations, documents with QR codes do not require prior legalization by the Tunisian authorities.
